Senior JavaScript Developer

A US-based data platform that is powering the convenience retail industry with a world-class technology, is looking for a Senior JavaScript Developer. The developer will be working with a growing team of thinkers, tinkerers, and problem solvers. The company connects brands, distributors, retailers, and independent outlets on one inclusive platform and powers smarter, more profitable retail. The company has managed to secure funding worth $40 mn+ during their Series B round. This will be a full-time role that requires some overlap with the PST/EST time zones.

Job Responsibilities:

• Lead, design, and implement features in large applications
• Develop proof-of-concept applications quickly and build APIs
• Work with API integrations, hardware, and software
• Conduct research and development to establish project viability
• Work with other members of the product engineering team to develop secure, dependable, and scalable software solutions
• Collaborate with the product team to ensure that user stories are developer-ready, understandable, and testable
• Coordinate project preparations with the team
• Aid in the development of project plans and proposals
• Conduct research and make recommendations for new technologies that will increase team effectiveness, project delivery timeframes, and development stack overhead
• Develop and maintain back-end systems for distributed client management

Job Requirements:

• Bachelor’s/Master’s degree in Engineering, Computer Science (or equivalent experience)
• At least 4+ years of relevant experience as a software engineer
• 4+ years of experience with Node.js or JavaScript
• Experience with Linux/Unix systems administration
• Demonstrable ability and experience working with Node or JavaScript, RestAPIs, React, and PostgreSQL/MySQL
• Proficient knowledge of OOP & FP design patterns
• Prior experience working with HTTP and Websocket communication
• Knowledge of in-memory caching and search indexing
• Experience with worker thread patterns and job queues
• Prolific experience with cloud and distributed services (AWS)
• Profound skills and expertise in working with multiple systems, languages, frameworks, and design patterns
• Nice to have some experience with GraphQL, Electron, TCP/IP, Ruby, and Python
• Experience with frameworks like Koa.js, Electron.js, React.js, React Native is desirable
• Familiarity with TCP/IP and networking is a plus
