Job description

A U.S.-based company building an online recreational platform that enables global users to connect with each other is looking for a Senior Android Engineer. The engineer will help drive the technical & product strategy, operations, architecture, and execution for a large revolutionary platform. The company is determined to bring a sense of community and belonging to everyone and improve the world. The company has secured more than $1 bn in funding during their Series F round of funding. This position requires some overlap with the EST time zone. 

 

Job Responsibilities:

  • Work cross-functionally with product, design, and engineering teams to implement a solid product strategy and build novel products 
  • Contribute to the full development cycle, including technical design, development, test, experimentation, analysis, and launch
  • Give feedback on product specs and mocks
  • Work on a team of thoughtful, fast-moving, and motivated engineers to develop high-yielding features
  • Set and define standards that improve developer workflows and recommend best practices
  • Learn and improve your technical and non-technical abilities

Job Requirements:

  • Bachelor’s/Master’s degree in Engineering, Computer Science (or equivalent experience)
  • At least 7+ years of relevant experience as a software engineer 
  • Extensive experience in Android/Kotlin
  • Demonstrable experience in modularization, large-scale refactoring, A/B testing, large-scale applications, unit testing, and screenshot/snapshot testing
  • Nice to have experience in GraphQL, REST, and HTTP basics
  • The ability to design maintainable APIs is a plus
  • Collaborate effectively with teams in a fully remote environment and discuss complex topics with technical and non-technical audiences
  • Strong organizational skills and the ability to prioritize tasks and keep projects on schedule
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills
  • Fluent in verbal and written English
