Job description

A US-based company that is harnessing the power of technology to build advanced digital financial services is looking for a Senior Android Engineer. The engineer will be working closely with cross-functional teams to build modern mobile applications. The global technology company's mission is to assist the chronically underbanked in borrowing, saving, and growing their money. The company has managed to raise $380mn+ in funding so far. 

 

Job Responsibilities:

  • Deliver customer-focused features that provide stability and security
  • Develop complex features for the company’s current and future supported nations
  • Guide the team in integrating with external partners (tracking, payment/KYC, support, etc.)
  • Review design documents, perform code reviews and weigh in on implementation choices from other technical teams
  • Participate in refactoring the current codebase to achieve better abstraction and modularization
  • Add, maintain and extend automation tests to comply with code coverage targets
  • Take a complicated idea/process and simplify it for the user into a beautiful and compelling experience

Job Requirements:

  • Bachelor’s/Master’s degree in Engineering, Computer Science (or equivalent experience)
  • At least 5+ years of relevant experience as an Android engineer
  • A minimum of 5+ years of experience working with native Android
  • At least 3+ years of experience in Kotlin
  • Prior experience in developing and launching large scale consumer mobile applications
  • Thorough understanding of the Android platform's performance, strengths, and trade-offs
  • At least 2+ years of experience in Dagger2 and RxJava
  • Solid understanding of REST API development
  • Prolific experience with MVP and Clean
  • Prior experience working with MVVM is a plus
  • Demonstrable experience with Agile/Scrum
  • Excellent at prioritization and communication in a fast-paced environment
  • Strong team leadership skills
  • Fluent in verbal and written English
