Job description

A fast-growing company developing an efficient peer-to-peer vehicle sharing platform that allows car owners to hire out their vehicles, is looking for a Senior Android Engineer. The engineer will be working with a wide range of systems and technologies and solving complex problems from end to end. The US-based company is building a robust connected vehicle-sharing community, which will provide people with a cost-effective alternative to owning a car. The company has managed to raise more than $550mn in funding so far. This position requires at least 5 hours overlap with the PST time zone. 

  

Job Responsibilities:

  • Work alongside back-end engineers and product managers to define, design, and deliver high-quality mobile services
  • Build clean, efficient, and reusable mobile components to develop scalable mobile solutions
  • Identify areas of improvement and suggest the latest app development best practices
  • Help ensure code quality, efficiency, and performance by analyzing and optimizing the applications
  • Develop modern universal applications for Android
  • Run diagnostics to test production issues and maintain documentation for future reference
  • Help estimate the product feature and provide solutions
  • Collaborate with cross-functional teams to innovate new ideas, explore technologies and deliver projects within deadline and budget

Job Requirements:

  • Bachelor’s/Master’s degree in Engineering, Computer Science (or equivalent experience)
  • At least 3-5+ years of relevant experience as an Android engineer
  • Must possess a deep understanding of the Android platform and essential development processes
  • Proven experience in developing at least 2 production apps using Kotlin
  • Proven experience in suggesting unit testing systems for projects in the past
  • Must be able to write tests for production apps
  • Should possess experience in working with REST APIs and MVVM patterns
  • Understanding of RxJava, Coroutines, Jetpack Compose (and functional/reactive programming in general) is preferred
  • Must possess excellent communication skills to distill complex technical topics into clear, coherent points over video and Slack
