Job description

A global technology company building the world’s most accessible financial services is looking for a Senior Android Engineer. The engineer will join the elite team of Android engineers developing features for the large global user base. The company has raised more than $300mn from visionary investors and channels its services to millions of customers around the world who are disregarded by traditional financial institutions. Job Responsibilities:

  • Work actively to provide customer-focused features that prioritize polish, offer stability, and security
  • Help deliver complex features for current and future supported countries
  • Offer guidance when integrating with external partners (tracking, payment/KYC, support, etc.)
  • Go through design documents, perform code reviews, and analyze implementation choices from other technical teams
  • Contribute to refactoring the current codebase to gain better abstraction and modularization
  • Manage, maintain, and improve the automation tests to comply with code coverage targets

Job Requirements:

  • Bachelor’s/Master’s degree in Engineering, Computer Science (or equivalent experience)
  • At least 4+ years of relevant software engineering experience
  • Solid expertise in native Android development
  • 2+ years coding proficiency in programming languages like Java and Kotlin
  • Competency in developing and launching large-scale consumer mobile applications
  • Thorough understanding of the Android platform’s performance, strengths, and trade-offs
  • Proficiency working with projects that use dependency injection, preferably Dagger 2
  • Familiarity with reactive development frameworks like RxJava
  • Basic understanding of REST API development
  • In-depth knowledge of software architecture concepts like MVP, MVVM, and Clean Architecture
  • Experience with Agile development processes like Scrum
  • Excellent skills in prioritization and communication in a fast-paced environment
  • Experience in predictive analysis and machine learning will be a bonus
  • Fluent in spoken and written English communication
