Job description

A US-based multinational technology company developing the most accessible digital financial services in the world is looking for a Senior Android Engineer. The engineer will join a team of talented individuals and will be expected to bring new thinking to the team to help build better products. The company is developing a one-of-a-kind platform that will enable lending and other financial services for underbanked people all around the world. They have managed to raise more than $350mn+ in funding so far.

  

Job Responsibilities:

  • Deliver features that prioritize polish, reliability, and security for the benefit of the client
  • Develop/improve sophisticated features for the nations that are already covered as well as those that will be supported in the future
  • Direct when working with external partners (tracking, payment/KYC, support, etc.)
  • Review design documents, code reviews, and provide feedback on implementation decisions made by other technical teams
  • Participate in code restructuring to improve abstraction and modularization
  • Achieve code coverage targets, add, maintain, and enhance automated tests

Job Requirements:

  • Bachelor’s/Master’s degree in Engineering, Computer Science (or equivalent experience)
  • At least 4+ years of experience working as an Android Engineer
  • 2+ years of coding experience in one or more of the following languages: Java and Kotlin 
  • Involvement in the development and release of Large-scale consumer mobile applications 
  • Has a solid understanding of the performance, strengths, and trade-offs of the Android platform
  • Experience with dependency injection in projects, preferably Dagger 2
  • RxJava and other reactive development frameworks are familiar to you
  • Basic understanding of REST API development
  • Experience in predictive analysis and machine learning
  • MVP, MVVM, and Clean Architecture are all ideas in software architecture that you should be familiar with
  • Knowledge of Scrum and other Agile development methodologies is a plus
  • Thrive at prioritization and communication
