Job description

A U.S.-based company that is transforming the audio landscape and how people engage with high-quality audio content and experiences, is looking for a Senior Android Engineer. The engineer should be adept at debugging connected, multi-threaded applications and quick to adapt to feature modifications. The company allows users to listen to the information they desire in high-quality, real-time audio using their own phones and headphones. This is an amazing opportunity for candidates to showcase their talent and work in a fast-paced environment. 

Job Responsibilities:

  • Contribute to design and planning conversations, develop new features, and solve interesting issues in dynamic, cross-functional scrum teams
  • Work collaboratively with the architectural, product, and design teams to create features for the platform that are aesthetically pleasing, easily navigable, and scalable
  • Work together as a diverse engineering team to design, develop, and introduce new features
  • Examine peer-submitted designs and code, and adhere to the code review procedure
  • Be proactive, assume responsibility for your work, and operate on your own

Job Requirements: 

  • Bachelor’s/Master’s degree in Engineering, Computer Science (or equivalent experience)
  • At least 5+ years of expertise in native Android development
  • Expertise in Java, Kotlin, and JNI to contribute to the hands-on coding of mobile applications.
  • In-depth knowledge of Java, Kotlin, Android UI development technologies, Android architecture components, and unit testing at a proficient level
  • Strong desire to work in a fast-paced, agile, collaborative workplace while being a creative self-starter
  • Prior experience working for a high-growth technology startup is preferred
  • Nice to have some background in Android Media Controls, NDK, sound, sockets, and streaming
  • Demonstrable expertise in developing low-level C/C++ NDK applications is desirable
  • Excellent spoken and written English communication skills

    Offer Details
  • Long-term contractor position (no medical/paid leave).
  • Full-time dedication (40 hours/week).
  • REQUIRED: 4 hs overlap with UTC-5:00 America/New_York
