Job description

A U.S.-based company that is bringing the world closer with their digital social platform is looking for a Senior Android Engineer. The selected candidate will play a vital role in determining the strategy for the Android app in this high-impact role on a team that is focused on growth. The company is enabling platform users to connect with each other and join communities of like-minded people. This position requires a significant overlap with the EST time zone.  

 

Job Responsibilities:


  • Contribute to the organization's efforts to link users who do not speak English with groups where they may fit in and have meaningful interactions
  • Find, consider, and use new technologies consistently to increase development effectiveness
  • Work cross-functionally with product and design partners to develop features that people who don't speak English will adore
  • Get involved in all phases of Android development, including design, implementation, code reviews, and deployment


Job Requirements:


  • Bachelor’s/Master’s degree in Engineering, Computer Science (or equivalent experience)
  • At least 5+ years of relevant experience as an Android Engineer
  • 5+ years of experience making Kotlin-based, user-facing Android apps
  • In-depth knowledge of GraphQL and Jetpack Compose 
  • Demonstrable experience in the CI/CD workflow and with unit, integration, and end-to-end testing
  • Intellectual zeal and a desire to create new things
  • Excellent communication abilities in a fully remote environment with both technical and non-technical audiences
  • Fluent in conversational and written English communication
