The selected candidate would be responsible for designing, developing, and maintaining the company’s multitude of mobile applications and helping drive their mobile development efforts. Job Responsibilities:

  • Provide valuable insight on individual features and product development
  • Establish best practices and patterns to streamline the engineering efforts toward Android 
  • Take ownership of the company’s continued efforts to scale mobile app development across Engineering
  • Share valuable feedback and insight on process and tool refinement to bolster additional contributors in the company architecture and code
  • Drive the feature development of beloved apps for smartphones and tablets
  • Take cognizance and responsibility for end-to-end product quality,
  • Own all life stages of products, from development to maintenance of core app frameworks 
  • Collaborate with team members and brainstorm ways to make the company applications more insightful, captivating, and fun

Job Requirements:

  • Bachelor’s/Master’s degree in Engineering, Computer Science (or equivalent experience)
  • At least 5-8 years of relevant experience as an Android Engineer
  • Sound knowledge of Android architecture, framework, Android SDK, core Java, Android Studio IDE, and Android debugger
  • Practical and hands-on experience with mobile application development and mobility solutions – native applications
  • Expertise in UI components and controls including - Action Bars, Widgets, Fragments, etc.
  • Great command of basic Android components: Activity, Services, Intent, Broadcast Receiver, and Content Provider
  • Previous experience with Web Service Integration like- REST, JSON, XM, and cloud technologies like - AWS, GAE, GCM
  • Broad understanding of a multitude of mobility areas including Mobile apps pertaining to retail and various other domains, Enterprise Mobility and VAS
  • Knowledge of Media, BFSI, Healthcare, Social Networking, and E-commerce
  • Ability to use location and social APIs, analytics, MDM, SMS gateway, payment gateway, media content transcoding, APM tools, and cloud integration
  • Proficiency with Jetpack Compose, at least 6+ months of experience working on the production app
  • Thorough understanding of Coroutines, View models, and MVVM design pattern
  • Experience working with Android applications which have had a scale between hundred thousand and millions
  • Must possess strong design principles
  • Excellent English communication skills, both - written and verbal
