Job description

A U.S.-based company that is developing a world-class social platform with a user base that spans across the world, is looking for a Senior Android Engineer. The selected candidate will be expected to discuss complex topics with technical and non-technical audiences. The company is developing a beloved community of communities on its platform that caters to the needs of the users and brings similar-minded people together. This is an exciting opportunity for developers who are self-directed, innovative, and biased toward action in a fast-paced environment. The company has managed to raise around $1mn+ during their Series F round of funding. This position requires some overlap with the EST time zone.  


Job Responsibilities:

Work collaboratively across departments to implement product and business strategy and create new features and products that are geared toward users

Participate in all phases of development, including technical planning, creation, testing, experimentation, analysis, and launch

Review code and design documentation and provide input on product specifications and mockups

Drive related technical and product strategy, operations, architecture, and execution

Work with a group of thoughtful, nimble, and driven engineers effectively in a fully remote environment

Establish and define standards to enhance development operations and recommend best practices

Keep learning and developing both your technical and non-technical skills


Job Requirements:

Bachelor’s/Master’s degree in Engineering, Computer Science (or equivalent experience)

At least 5+ years of relevant experience as an Android Engineer

5+ years of experience developing user-facing mobile native applications at scale, using Android/Kotlin

Extensive experience with modularization, large-scale refactoring, experimentation / A/B testing, large-scale applications, unit testing, and screenshot/snapshot testing

In-depth knowledge of GraphQL, REST, and HTTP basics 

Ability to design maintainable APIs is desirable

Strong organizational skills and the ability to prioritize tasks and keep projects on schedule

Build new things and thrive in ambiguity and even failure

Excellent English communication skills
