Job description

A Silicon Valley-based company building an innovative platform that enables artists, creators, and enthusiasts to live stream music is looking for a Senior Android Developer. The selected candidate will be responsible for planning, developing, and maintaining mobile responsive Android applications from scratch. The platform enables users to have fun listening together in an authentic way and in a safe environment. The company has managed to raise $3.8 mn+ in funding so far. This will be a full-time long-term position requiring 4+ hours of overlap with the PST time zone. 

 

Job Responsibilities:

  • Contribute to advancing the fast-growing, large-scale consumer app and creating the foundation of a robust mobile engineering team 
  • Design and implement features in the flagship video/music/audio Android application 
  • Work with the design team to build great products and innovative user experiences
  • Release iteratively and quickly in an agile software development environment
  • Operate closely with the company’s product and server teams to establish and implement features

Job Requirements:

  • Bachelor’s/Master’s degree in Engineering, Computer Science (or equivalent experience)
  • At least 5+ years of relevant experience as an Android developer
  • Experience with Rest APIs
  • Must be experienced with Android (Android Java and Kotlin) 
  • Must possess a prolific understanding of Android SDK, various Android versions, and the know-how of dealing with varying platform fragmentation/screen sizes
  • A strong desire to learn about tech and code with the keenness to build code, apps, and a robust development team
  • Must be proficient in real-time video systems, such as WebRTC or OpenTok 
  • Must be experienced with iOS and peer-to-peer video and audio technologies 
  • A strong ability to be a highly effective engineer who consistently aims to comprehend the most difficult challenges and come up with innovative solutions
  • Must possess the passion to craft top-quality mobile apps and be experienced in working in a fast-paced entrepreneurial atmosphere 
  • Must be appreciative of values, teamwork, diversity, and contribution to impactful social products
  • Fluency in spoken and written English is mandatory
