Job description

A U.S.-based company that is developing a world-class e-commerce shipping platform to meet the needs of the modern marketplace, is looking for a Python/Django Engineer. The engineer will be in charge of bringing about stability in a crucial stage of the reconciliation process. The company's comprehensive platform enables businesses to track shipments, print labels, automate international papers, and get shipping quotes. The company has managed to secure more than $152mn during their Series E round of funding.  

 

Job Responsibilities:

  • Make improvements to the Python Django code base to guarantee the system's smooth operation
  • Start tackling the things on the well-organized backlog right away that we believe will significantly enhance this process
  • Make contributions in a variety of additional areas, such as reporting and data analytics
  • Learn our Python Django code base quickly so you may contribute
  • Work together with the full-time engineers and managers that are already on staff to identify the issues we are having
  • Provide solutions that are based on the financial indicators that we are monitoring and are geared for speed and producing value
  • Effectively manage tasks and adhere to deadlines

Job Requirements:

  • Bachelor’s/Master’s degree in Engineering, Computer Science (or equivalent experience)
  • At least 5+ years of relevant experience as a software engineer
  • 5+ years of experience working with Python and Django application development
  • Experience in testing applications or using TDD. In particular, experience with Celery
  • Experience with Kafka, specifically with Confluent Kafka Experience, Observability, DLQ Kafka
  • Experience with New Relic
  • Some demonstrable experience with AWS Cloud services
  • In-depth knowledge of relational databases and SQL queries, in particular, using Postgres
  • Prior experience developing RESTful services extensively
  • Desire and interest to learn new tools and techniques.
  • Superior teamwork and communication skills with others
  • Strong awareness of customer demands and a passion for customer success
  • Ability to interact with non-technical team members
  • Excellent spoken and written English communication skills
