Job description

A U.S.-based company that is helping businesses and individuals to achieve operational excellence is looking for a Principal Software Engineer. The selected candidate will be working closely with the VP of Engineering to lead the transition to a microservices architecture. Job Responsibilities:

  • Work with the company’s leadership to lead their transition to a microservices architecture
  • Build event-driven services
  • Train and mentor the company’s developers in new patterns and methodologies
  • Write carefully designed, maintainable, testable, and efficient code
  • Organize documenting and maintenance of software functionality
  • Assess and deploy software tools, processes, and metrics
  • Provide support and consulting on software systems usage
  • Ensure compliance with project plans and industry standards
  • Architect the next generation of the company’s software products

Job Requirements:

  • Bachelor’s/Master’s degree in Engineering, Computer Science (or equivalent experience)
  • At least 8+ years of relevant experience as a software engineer 
  • A minimum of 3+ years of experience in a lead or Principal software engineer role
  • At least 5+ years of experience in web application development
  • A minimum of 5+ years of experience in AWS or other major cloud platforms
  • Working knowledge of relational databases, SQL, and ORM technologies
  • Prior experience in designing interactive applications and test-driven development
  • Comprehensive knowledge of event-driven and microservice architectures
  • Demonstrable experience in documenting requirements and specifications
  • Extensive experience in Go, Node, .Net Core, or other languages and frameworks used in microservices
  • Expert knowledge of relational database design
  • Solid understanding of event-driven architecture
  • Experience leading the transition from monolith to microservices
  • Fluent in verbal and written English
