Job description

An NYSE-listed company that is providing businesses in the construction industry with world-class software solutions is looking for a Java Back-End Engineer. The engineer will be in charge of the architecture, design, and development of systems, platforms, and integrations of the business ecosystem. The company's construction management software helps businesses to take charge of construction outcomes, reducing risks, and safeguarding profits. So far, the company has managed to secure $648mn+ in funding. 

 

Job Responsibilities:

  • Take charge of the commerce and entitlements platform infrastructure
  • Build software solutions that support the backbone operations of the business
  • Create and implement the organization's architecture for automating entitlements, integrating CRM and ERP platforms
  • Develop and implement parts of the business's e-commerce solution so that an e-commerce sales and payment gateway may be integrated with upstream and downstream systems
  • Develop and promote innovative tools, methods, and integration procedures to advance the maturity and dependability of the organization's distributed business environment
  • Use object-oriented programming languages, microservices, an API-led integration architecture, middleware tools, and business process automation/decision automation tools to design and create system integrations
  • Work together with the technical team at all levels to assess technical solutions and create trade-offs
  • Software engineering best practices, system integration strategies, market trends, automation methodologies, including robotic process automation, and upcoming technologies are all continuously learned about and shared
  • Work in an agile setting where creativity and collaboration are key success factors

Job Requirements:

  • Bachelor’s/Master’s degree in Engineering, Computer Science (or equivalent experience)
  • At least 7+ years of relevant experience as a back-end engineer
  • 7+ years of experience working with Java, Microservices, and Spring/SpringBoot
  • Prior experience working with event-driven architecture, and orchestration software
  • 4+ years of experience and strong expertise in object-oriented languages, design principles, and methodologies
  • Extensive experience working with Kafka, PostgreSQL, Camunda, and Kubernetes is desirable
  • Nice to have some experience with Docker, Jenkins, GraphQL, REST, Slack, and Jira
  • Experience developing in an AWS environment using VPC, ECS/EC2, S3, Route 53, IAM, Terraform, CloudFormation, SNS, ELB, Lambda, DynamoDB, and RDS
  • Excellent problem-solving skills with top-notch software design and implementation skills
  • Strong understanding of integration strategies and techniques, including enterprise integration patterns, middleware frameworks, web services, GraphQL, REST, SOAP, and JSON
  • Prior experience driving system improvements to design, testing, security, reliability, and performance
  • Experience with Agile methodology, CI/CD, systems, and integration testing frameworks 
  • Experience building deployment pipelines using GitLab and AWS ecosystem, TDD, and version control systems
  • Excellent English communication skills
