Full-Stack Java Developer

A US-based commerce API platform that enables apps to integrate universal checkout quickly is looking for a Full-Stack Java Developer. The selected candidate will be working across domains and delivering high-value solutions to users, developers, and engineers. The company is developing a single API platform for e-commerce integrations that will allow businesses to expand their integrations across the whole product and order lifecycle. The company has managed to raise more than $10mn during their Series A round of funding. This will be a full-time role requiring some overlap with the EST/PST time zones. 

Job Responsibilities:

• Ensure that the products meet the customer expectations
• Develop and design a web application's overall architecture
• Create a collection of services and APIs to allow the web application to run smoothly
• Create code and libraries that to be reused in the future
• Keep up with market web trends that are relevant and applicable
• Define the scope and scale of software projects with the software development team
• Collaborate closely with back-end engineers and designers
• Create new customer-facing features and software that’s extensible, reusable, and meets desired architectural objectives
• Ensure that software is compatible with a variety of platforms and browsers
• Make apps as scalable and fast as possible
• Put in place data security policies and procedures
• Convert UI/UX wireframes into graphical elements

Job Requirements:

• Bachelor’s/Master’s degree in Engineering, Computer Science (or equivalent experience)
• At least 4+ years of relevant experience as a full-stack developer
• Demonstrable experience with Java, Express, React, and NGINX
• Familiarity with C# and AWS
• Fluent in modern CSS and HTML standards
• Experience with Flexbox and CSS Grid
• Strong OOP and software design knowledge
• Experience with all phases of the software development life cycle
• Hands-on experience with agile software development
• An eagerness and desire to learn a new technology 
• Ability to work independently and comfortably as part of a remote team
• Knowledge of database systems and SQL
• Good communication skills
• Excellent project and time management skills
• Experience designing high-throughput distributed systems/microservices 
• Knowledge of Docker or other Containerization systems is nice to have
• Knowledge of cloud systems like AWS is desirable
