Job description

A leading, global company active in the e-commerce space is looking for a Front-end Mobile Engineer. The engineer will be responsible for building and maintaining the next-generation hybrid-mobile, front-end framework across development teams to build customer-facing restaurant systems for millions of users. The company offers high-quality digital solutions for ordering, payment, and other services that integrate across multiple platforms. The candidate will work quickly to solve problems, meet deadlines, and collaborate with team members across diverse disciplines and geographies. Job Responsibilities:

  • Manage the development of the next generation hybrid-mobile platform using the latest technologies and techniques
  • Internally champion and support the platform adoption across a global development team
  • Utilize expertise in front-end/mobile technologies to identify frameworks, libraries, techniques, and strategies to be used by development teams in building world-class mobile applications
  • Prototype and implement new framework features to determine feasibility and drive framework innovation
  • Implement and maintain web CI/CD pipelines for the engineering teams
  • Stay up-to-date on the most current mobile development tooling and process norms to ensure best practices
  • Collaborate with stakeholders to define the mobile deployment and SDLC standards
  • Stay informed on Play/App store requirements and mobile application trends to make informed decisions on possible roadmap features, including implementation breakdowns and prototypes
  • Work closely with the design team to develop design systems, user interaction, and navigation standards for use across multiple applications
  • Work closely with engineering teams to ensure established standards are appropriate for developer creativity, throughput, and consistency
  • Provide technology mentoring and training to scale the success of development teams

Job Requirements:

  • Bachelor’s/Master’s degree in Engineering, Computer Science (or equivalent experience)
  • 5+ years of experience in professional web/mobile development using modern technologies
  • Solid experience with principles of application architecture and implementation hybrid-mobile apps across different frameworks (NativeScript, React Native, Xamarin, Ionic, Flutter)
  • Expert skills in JavaScript/TypeScript and robust understanding of CSS
  • Track record in publishing and managing mobile apps in the Apple App Store/Google Play Store and Facebook
  • Understanding of performance and platform limitations of mobile applications with the ability to collaborate on mitigation techniques
  • Ability to understand technical requirements and split into work tasks
  • The ability to analyze problems and implement highly performant solutions 
  • Understanding of the software delivery lifecycle, including design, implementation, quality assurance, user acceptance testing, release, and maintenance
  • Ability to collaborate with various staff disciplines, including account, product, analytics and, QA teams
  • Solid understanding of interface guidelines with the ability to collaborate in the development of good mobile UX and iOS/Android peculiarities
  • Strong understanding of interactive touch/gesture interfaces for mobile platforms
  • Excellent verbal and documentation skills with the ability to create high-level and detailed design documents, describing architectures and implementation plans
  • Excellent communication skills, fluency in written and spoken English (other languages a plus)
  • Experience in Agile methodologies such as Scrum
