Job description

A US-based non-profit organization that aims to eliminate the opportunity gap among the young generation is looking for a DevOps Engineer. The developer will be responsible for incorporating and building the CI pipelines for testing. The organization brings together intellectual luminaries in education and technology to help accelerate innovation and develop learning models and technologies that inform, enhance, and service teaching and learning. This is an excellent opportunity for developers to contribute to a notable cause while expanding their skill sets.

 

Job Responsibilities:

  • Work on the Ed-Fi ODS and API version 5.2.0 deployment
  • Create variations for staging and local testing via Docker-Compose or Kubernetes
  • Help the team to move away from Cloud Composer and create their deployment for Airflow
  • Develop a production Airflow environment
  • Help with the Terraform for setting up of the customer Google Cloud Platform (GCP) projects
  • Write Terraform to deploy a Google Kubernetes Engine instance and Cloud SQL database
  • Modify an Airflow Helm Chart to deploy to the Google Kubernetes Engine instance
  • Help to configure the OAuth authentication
  • Execute changes to the way the team currently deploy the workflows 
  • Work with network storage or cloud storage sync with GCS Fuse or similar

Job Requirements:

  • Bachelor’s/Master’s degree in Engineering, Computer Science (or equivalent experience)
  • At least 3+ years relevant experience as a DevOps engineer
  • Prior experience working with Docker, Kubernetes, SQL, Helm, and Terraform
  • Extensive General CI/CD experience
  • Familiarity with deploying to the Cloud - Google Cloud Platform
  • Familiarity with Python Flask and .Net Core is nice to have
  • Nice to have some experience with Apache Airflow/deploying Apache Airflow
  • Prior experience deploying on the Google Cloud platform is desirable
  • Experience with Bitbucket Pipelines is preferred 
  • Working knowledge of security best practices for deployments accessible over the public internet
