Job description

A U.S.-based company is seeking a talented and proactive Docker expert to join their team as a DevOps Engineer. In this role, the developer will be responsible for managing and optimizing the Docker infrastructure while ensuring the smooth operation of the company’s systems. The candidate should have a deep understanding of Docker and its related technologies, along with a demonstrated ability to prioritize and tackle various challenges. Passion and empathy are crucial, as the selected candidate will be working closely with the team to address their needs and provide valuable support. This position requires 4-6+ hours of overlap with the CST time zone


Responsibilities:

  • Manage and optimize the company’s Docker infrastructure, ensuring its reliability, scalability, and performance
  • Collaborate with the team to identify opportunities and address potential problems by taking proactive actions
  • Demonstrate passion and empathy in your interactions with team members, showing genuine care and support
  • Practice active listening techniques and respond to the team's concerns and requirements respectfully
  • Utilize your experience in working with high-growth businesses to handle exponential scaling and rapidly changing requirements

Requirements:

  • Bachelor’s/Master’s degree in Engineering, Computer Science (or equivalent experience)
  • At least 8+ years of relevant experience as a DevOps Engineer
  • Strong expertise in Docker and related technologies, with a proven track record of effectively managing Docker environments
  • Demonstrated ability to prioritize and handle multiple challenges, taking proactive steps to create opportunities and mitigate problems
  • Excellent communication skills, with a focus on empathy and building strong relationships within the team
  • Experience working in a high-growth business environment with a focus on exponential scale and fast-paced development
  • Familiarity with the following technologies: Terraform, Ansible, Docker Swarm, AWS, GCP, Azure, Python, JavaScript, TypeScript, Node, PostgreSQL, Redis, Elasticsearch, Minio, Microservices, and Continuous Deployment (CD)
  • Preference will be given to candidates with a strong background in on-premise infrastructure and multi-cloud environments
  • Fluent in written and spoken English
