Job description

A U.S.-based company that is developing data-driven marketing technologies that aid in accelerating business growth by detecting trends in consumer behavior and offering personalized recommendations, is looking for a DevOps Engineer. The selected candidate will be responsible for making plans for the infrastructure expansion of the platform. The company's platform assists small restaurant chains in unifying, cleaning, and organizing their data from various platforms so they can make better, AI-assisted business decisions that increase ROI and promote expansion. The company has successfully managed to secure more than $43mn in funding so far.

 

Job Responsibilities:

  • Create and maintain the infrastructure platform for the business
  • Enable the business and its customers to scale while helping the engineering and data science teams to ship code quickly
  • Provide a positive user experience for those utilizing your infrastructure
  • Help develop, maintain, and scale cloud infrastructure for the company’s platform
  • Establish and maintain IaaS standards and guidelines
  • Use the current CI/CD pipelines to ensure the quick, dependable delivery of code, assist a range of software development initiatives, and plan the implementation of top-notch monitoring
  • Create extremely scalable system deployments with zero downtime
  • Work cross-functionally with teams from engineering and product development
  • Participate in software and quality engineering by sharing your technical knowledge and operational experience
  • Mentor and train new engineers
  • Take charge of protecting customer data and monitoring systems well

Job Requirements:

  • Bachelor’s/Master’s degree in Engineering, Computer Science (or equivalent experience)
  • At least 8+ years of relevant experience as a DevOps Engineer
  • Prior professional experience working in startups or other lean teams
  • Create and expand highly accessible cloud architectures while preserving high-quality codebases
  • Extensive knowledge of setting up services on any of the main cloud infrastructures, such as AWS, Azure, or GCP
  • Demonstrable experience implementing Infrastructure-as-Code (Terraform, CloudFormation, etc.)
  • Strong familiarity with CI/CD and the resources utilized to deliver it (Jenkins, ArgoCD, Drone, GitHub Actions, etc)
  • In-depth knowledge of a scripting languages like Python and JavaScript
  • Extensive knowledge of container orchestration (Kubernetes)
  • Along with stakeholders, look for ways to automate manual activities on a regular basis
  • Should be curious about various technologies and appreciate working with their hands dirty
  • Excellent English communication skills, both spoken and written
