Job description

A fast-growing startup offering data-driven insights and power contracts for bitcoin miners is looking for a Data Engineer. The engineer will be responsible for designing and building production data pipelines while leveraging past experiences. The company is committed to ensuring smart power contracts for an abundant energy future. They have raised over $2 mn in funding so far. The selected candidate will play a key role in building the team and a more sustainable future in this high-impact role.

Job Responsibilities:

Develop data pipelines, tools, and applications to automate the analysis of power markets and power contracts
Focus on creating streamlined, scalable production data pipelines
Focus on the design, implementation, scalability, and performance of the data analytics engines
Create and manage databases, integrate data systems, logging systems, and caching systems using APIs
Identify trends, invent new ways of looking at data, and be creative to drive improvements in existing and future products
Collaborate and communicate with sales, development, and operations teams to determine the needs of the project
Leverage your knowledge and data expertise to understand how customers use the software to prioritize features and software improvements

Job Requirements:

Bachelor’s/Master’s degree in Engineering, Computer Science (or equivalent experience)
At least 5+ years of professional experience designing and building production data pipelines and APIs
Experience in data engineering
Proven track record of solving challenging problems
Expert understanding of Python, SQL, Spark, Beam, Airflow, Docker, and various cloud services
Experience with Infrastructure-as-Code solutions such as Terraform and Pulumi
Experience integrating solutions with a wide range of communication and information systems, such as IoT and SCADA systems
Experience and comfort working in an Agile/SCRUM environment with significant responsibility and the ability to self-manage
Strong problem-solving skills to help refine problem statements and solve them with the available data
Passion for bitcoin and energy markets
Self-motivator with the flexibility and willingness to work on various initiatives simultaneously
Fluency in English language
