Job description

A rapidly-growing company committed to providing customers and sports enthusiasts with unique sports and digital entertainment experiences is looking for a Data Engineer. The engineer will be helping the company to rapidly evolve their data platform to supply the increasingly data-led needs of the business and expand their new products to the latest markets. The company is using innovative technology to solve hard problems while bringing fans and communities closer to their favorite sports and games. This is an exciting opportunity for developers who enjoy working in a fast-paced environment while tackling problems in an analytical manner. 

 

Job Responsibilities:

  • Provide for the data-led needs of the business as we expand into new products and new markets
  • Develop Azure SQL/Synapse-based cloud data warehouse, and embrace technologies like real-time processing and universal event logging
  • Bring technical strength, business acumen, and the ability to operate in a very fast-moving environment to deliver value quickly 
  • Build and manage a highly robust and scalable Data Warehouse/ETL infrastructure 
  • Develop a scalable data pipeline capable of streaming and batch processing modes
  • Ensure that the company builds fault-tolerant systems and processes with automated data quality monitoring and alerting
  • Fix recurring problems and optimize for performance and scalability
  • Document and ensure the company has up-to-date documentation for the entire data platform stack
  • Partner effectively with both business stakeholders and product engineering to deliver high-value BI assets
  • Collaborate and work with key stakeholders to understand requirements and drive the roadmap for the data platform

Job Requirements:

  • Bachelor’s/Master’s degree in Engineering, Computer Science (or equivalent experience)
  • At least 7+ years of relevant experience as a data engineer
  • A minimum of 7+ years of experience in T-SQL and U-SQL
  • Extensive experience in Python 
  • A minimum of 5+ years of experience in SQL
  • Fluent in verbal and written English
