Job description

A US-based company on a mission to help businesses bridge the technological gap and reach consumers in a consistent and transparent manner is looking for a Data Engineer. The engineer will be responsible for analyzing and identifying areas of improvement with existing processes, procedures, and documentation. The company enables businesses to attract, retain, and convert more customers by providing them with modern, scalable solutions. So far, the company has securely raised more than $13 mn in funding. This role requires 4+ hours of overlap with the PST time zone and will be a full-time, long-term position. 

 

Job Responsibilities:

  • Design, implement, and maintain the Azure SQL Server and NoSQL databases (i.e., SQL, MongoDB, Cosmos, and others)
  • Develop robust, scalable, high-quality databases and services consistent with industry best practices
  • Contribute to data solutions that work with cloud-based technologies and platforms 
  • Develop reusable and scalable ETL processes
  • Transfer existing data from legacy data stores to new platform data stores
  • Enable stable software architectures while meeting design specifications, sprint goals, and timelines
  • Deliver ad-hoc data reporting through PowerBI and SSRS
  • Conduct code reviews and ensure consistent quality and adherence to data standards
  • Implement new features in a highly collaborative environment with the product and engineering team 
  • Assist the team members in the support, optimization, and upgrade of existing data platform services
  • Share technical solutions and product ideas with the team

Job Requirements:

  • Bachelor’s/Master’s degree in Engineering, Computer Science (or equivalent experience)
  • At least 3+ years of relevant experience as a data engineer
  • Extensive experience in Azure, Data factories, ETL, and SQL 
  • Nice to have experience in MySQL, MongoDB, and PowerBI reporting
  • Proficient in conversational and written English
