Job description

A rapidly-growing company building a trustworthy partnership in the energy sector for customer-related data research, is looking for a Data Engineer. The engineer will be collaborating with Data scientists and the engineering team to deliver platform enhancements. The company sells software that helps energy companies engage with residential consumers by combining data analytics and behavioral psychology. This will be a full-time, long-term position requiring some overlap with the CET time zone. 

  

Job Responsibilities:

  • Conceptualize and build the company's Analytics Cloud together with the data scientists
  • Use clean, tested, and scalable code to implement user stories from our product team
  • Extend the existing data pipelines, microservices, and APIs
  • Ensure a cost-effective and secure infrastructure, as well as effective analytics
  • Ensure that the company's technological decisions are made in a timely manner
  • Hire and manage freelancers as needed

Job Requirements:

  • Bachelor’s/Master’s degree in Engineering, Computer Science (or equivalent experience)
  • At least 3+ years of relevant experience as a data engineer
  • Demonstrable experience working with AWS, PHP/MySQL, and REST/RESTful APIs
  • Nice to have some knowledge of Docker, Linux, and Ansible
  • Have an eye for detail and improve in lackluster areas
  • Fluent in written and spoken English
