Job description

A rapidly-growing company that is connecting businesses and clients with powerful insight across fields by harnessing the benefits of technology is looking for a Data Engineer. The selected candidate will be working closely with product managers, developers, QA, and DevOps and will be expected to own projects from conception to delivery. The US-based company is delivering insights and influencing business decisions with data analytics. Clients get access to the world's largest and most diverse source of first-hand information, including CEOs, scientists, academics, former public-sector officials, and the foremost subject matter experts, thanks to the industry-leading company's revolutionary services. They have managed to raise $210mn+ in funding so far. This role requires 6+ hours overlap with the SNST time zone and will be a long-term position. 

  

Job Responsibilities:

  • Collaborate with business users to learn about their processes and requirements for data analytics
  • Perform exploratory data analysis to separate signal from noise
  • Understand and use the platform to conduct analysis and communicate insights across the organization
  • Concentrate on data mining, predictive analytics, and next-generation tools and methods for extracting information from the data

Job Requirements:

  • Bachelor’s/Master’s degree in Engineering, Computer Science (or equivalent experience)
  • At least 3+ years of relevant experience as a software engineer
  • 2+ years of SQL and R/Python scripting experience
  • Proven understanding of a wide range of machine learning algorithms (clustering, decision tree learning, regression, etc.) as well as their real-world benefits and limitations
  • Participate in all elements of the data mining lifecycle from inception to implementation and deployment 
  • Strong communication skills
  • Ability to convey and illustrate business processes, as well as create a story with data
  • The capacity to cope with ambiguous needs and come up with effective answers
  • Knowledge of front-end reporting tools like Looker, Power BI, or Tableau is a plus
  • Snowflake experience is a plus
