Data Engineer

A well-funded, exciting startup building a platform that will help restaurant operators recover from the pandemic is looking for a Data Engineer. The engineer will be a huge part of a very small development team, essentially owning the entire predictive analytics strategy of the company. The company’s revolutionary technology aims to tell a restaurant operator what will be sold by the hour over a rolling 21-day look-forward period. Job Responsibilities:

• Track record of solving problems and delivering data solutions as a part of a larger team
• Impact the tech team, the business, processes, and the product
• Establish best practices for the accuracy of the predictive models
• Identify machine learning models to best suit specific use cases across different
•  restaurant types and levels of granularity in terms of time and levels of sales (dollars,
•  categories, items)
• Segment restaurants into groups and manage models for each group to ensure a baseline accuracy level for new clients
• Identify and incorporate new data sources to improve the data set and level of accuracy
• Ensure the continual improvement of the predictive analytics through monitoring and tuning
• Follow best practices in remote work and in the agile development lifecycle

Job Requirements:

• Bachelor’s/Master’s degree in Engineering, Computer Science (or equivalent experience)
• At least 5+ years of relevant experience as a data engineer
• Prolific knowledge of Data science principles
• Extensive experience with application development
• Prior experience working with Machine Learning and related technologies
• Excellent grasp of source code control using Git
• Excellent collaborative and communication skills
