Job description

An emerging startup that focuses on transforming the future of healthcare by delivering out-of-hospital and acute care services globally, is looking for a Data Engineer. The engineer will work alongside other data engineers and cross-functionally with software engineers, data scientists, researchers, etc., while reporting to the data engineering manager. The company combines the latest technology with the knowledge and expertise of the best doctors to make healthcare simpler, better, and more effective for people worldwide. Job Responsibilities:

  • Work as a data analyst in the data engineering team to document and shape the data 
  • Take responsibility for ensuring the research team can easily and quickly analyze patient and product outcomes
  • Develop the interface between the server & third-party clients, including hospitals, EHR Vendors, and BI Tools
  • Remove and prepare data from production databases for analysis 
  • Communicate data schemas and formats used in various data repositories
  • Help with the documentation and development of APIs
  • Deliver high-quality code in a startup environment

Job Requirements:

  • Bachelor’s/Master’s degree in Engineering, Computer Science (or equivalent experience)
  • At least 3+ years of relevant data engineering experience 
  • 3+ years experience working as a data analyst with SQL or other querying languages
  • Solid technical skills and capable of applying them in new and creative ways 
  • Ability to collaborate and communicate effectively and leverage the power of other great analysts & engineers to solve interesting problems
  • Hands-on experience with various data structures, including JSON and CSV
  • Capable of consistently producing bug-free, readable, maintainable code and offering solutions when articulating problems
  • Proficient with databases such as RDS, Redshift & MongoDB 
  • Prior expertise working in healthcare & knowledge of FHIR is a bonus
