Job description

A fast-growing company that is offering early-stage technology-based businesses growth finance and practical operational support, is looking for a Data Engineer. The engineer will be tasked with improving the performance of the databases and queries to ensure effective data processing. The company dabbles in asset management and supports early-stage tech entrepreneurs in a variety of industries who are filling in huge technological gaps, creating reliable technologies, and advancing the ecosystem. This will be a long-term position. 

 

Job Responsibilities:

  • Develop, build, and maintain data and software systems that can effectively manage and process massive datasets
  • Transfer data from diverse sources to data warehouses or data lakes by constructing reliable data pipelines
  • Implement security measures to protect the confidentiality and privacy of your data
  • Data pipelines should be observed and investigated for problems
  • Be aware of new developments in data engineering trends and technology
  • Design and create data systems and software applications that can effectively handle and process big datasets
  • Work together with cross-functional teams to guarantee data accuracy, consistency, and completeness
  • To verify the integrity and quality of your data, do cleansing, validation, and transformation
  • Collaborate with data scientists and analysts to offer accurate, clean data for analysis and modeling

Job Requirements:

  • Bachelor’s/Master’s degree in Engineering, Computer Science (or equivalent experience)
  • At least 3+ years of relevant experience as a data engineer
  • Extensive experience working with programming languages like Python, Java, and Scala
  • Demonstrable experience working with big data technologies like Kafka
  • Prior experience with cloud computing platforms like GCP
  • Some familiarity with database technologies like SQL, NoSQL, and/or Graph databases
  • In-depth knowledge of data modeling and data visualization tools like ER diagrams, UML, and Tableau
  • Excellent analytical and problem-solving abilities
  • Strong interpersonal and teamwork abilities
  • Ability to work both independently and collaboratively
  • Fluent in spoken and written English communication
