Job description

A fast-growing company that is developing a global platform to invest consistently in cutting-edge technology and startup businesses, is looking for a Software Engineer. The engineer will be responsible for building reliable data pipelines to transfer data from diverse sources to data lakes or warehouses. The company offers mentorship, ongoing data analytics, and insights to help startups with their entire strategy, funding, and business growth initiatives. This will be a long-term opportunity. 

 

Job Responsibilities:

  • Develop, establish, and maintain data and software systems that can effectively handle and process huge datasets
  • Work together with cross-functional teams to guarantee data completeness, accuracy, and consistency
  • Guarantee data quality and integrity by performing data cleansing, validation, and transformation
  • Ensure effective data processing by improving database and query performance
  • Collaborate with data scientists and analysts to offer dependable, clean data for analysis and modeling
  • Implement security measures to protect the confidentiality and privacy of the data
  • Create software applications and data systems that can effectively manage and process massive datasets
  • Follow new developments in data engineering trends and technology
  • Data pipelines should be monitored constantly and investigated for problems

Job Requirements:

  • Bachelor’s/Master’s degree in Engineering, Computer Science (or equivalent experience)
  • At least 3+ years of relevant experience as a software engineer
  • Strong software engineering background with a focus on data engineering
  • Prior working knowledge of big data technologies and cloud computing platforms
  • Strong background in programming in languages like Python, Java, or Scala
  • Track record of using big data technologies like Kafka
  • Comprehensive understanding of cloud computing technologies like GCP
  • In-depth knowledge of database technologies like Graph databases, NoSQL, and/or SQL
  • Broad understanding of data modeling and visualization techniques, including ER diagrams, UML, and Tableau
  • Excellent analytical and problem-solving abilities.
  • Strong interpersonal and teamwork abilities
  • Ability to operate both independently and collaboratively
  • Fluent in spoken and written English communication
