Job description

A U.S.-based company that has managed to build a world-class online social platform with a multinational user base is looking for a Data Engineer. The engineer will be responsible for designing and developing data models in order to optimize data storage and retrieval. The company is helping like-minded users to connect with each other over shared interests and join long-lasting communities. The company has successfully managed to secure $1bn+ in funding during their Series F round. 

 

Job Responsibilities:

  • Monitor data quality and ensure data accuracy and integrity
  • Develop data pipelines to ingest data from various sources
  • Collaborate with data analysts and scientists to identify and understand data needs
  • Deploy and manage data infrastructure, including databases and data warehouses

Job Requirements:

  • Bachelor’s/Master’s degree in Engineering, Computer Science (or equivalent experience)
  • At least 3+ years of relevant experience as a data engineer
  • Experience with any object-oriented programming language such as Scala, Python, Go, or Java.
  • Experience working with large scale ETL systems (implementation, strategy, and maintenance). Experienced with Airflow.
  • Experience building data pipelines with streaming tools such as Kafka, Kinesis, Flink, or Spark
  • Experience with Apache Spark
  • Excellent spoken and written English
