Associate Data Engineer

A US-based company developing an operating system and a professional community for the most entrepreneurial young people, local sports administrators, and organizers is looking for an Associate Data Engineer. The selected candidate will be responsible for ensuring that the outputs are user-friendly and visually compelling. By delivering the most exhaustive sports management platform, the company aids youth sports groups in running their institutions. The company has managed to securely raise $30mn+ during their Series B round of funding. 

Job Responsibilities:

• Create reports for external partners and internal stakeholders
• Create customer-specific data integrations and collaborate with customers to meet their needs
• Collaborate with colleagues to pair programme and review/test code
• Troubleshoot and offer solutions to product problems
• Share awesome animated GIFs in the Slack channels
• Use agile practices in a team environment
• Create high-performance data streams and APIs to ensure timely and accurate delivery
• Be exposed to new technologies to learn and grow your skills
• Participate regularly in meetings

Job Requirements:

• Bachelor’s/Master’s degree in Engineering, Computer Science (or equivalent experience)
• At least 3+ years of relevant experience as a data engineer
• Must have expertise with Java and Python
• Knowledge of Object-Oriented Programming and Big data is required
• Expertise with Containerization, microservices, Spring is a must
• Familiarity with Cloud-based technologies is required
• Some knowledge of data warehouse architectures and a basic understanding of data modeling is nice to have
• Experience working with APIs, ETL jobs, and SQL is required
• Experience completing development projects with high-quality results is a must
• Must be ambitious and passionate about learning new technologies and creating new products
