Job description

A US-based company building cutting-edge software and hardware solutions for industrial vehicle safety and automation is looking for an Android Developer. The selected candidate will be in charge of designing, developing, and performing maintenance tasks for high-end apps for the Android platform. The VC-backed company is leveraging the benefits of AI-powered sensors to remove hazardous and stressful working environments by minimizing workplace accidents. During their Series A round, the company managed to raise $6.5mn+ in funding. This will be a full-time position that can lead to long-term opportunities. 


Job Responsibilities:

  • Communicate with the proprietary hardware
  • Stream images/video and other data 
  • For data gathering, processing, and reporting, work with Android and other sensors
  • Putting in place safeguards for users' data
  • Before each app is released, proofread your code and fix any errors
  • Work with UI and UX Designers, as well as software testers, to guarantee that each app is presentable and functional
  • Assuring that the design and presentation of your apps adhere to the company's guidelines
  • Track app reviews and improve them wherever possible
  • Create app updates, including bug fixes and additional features for release

Job Requirements:

  • Bachelor’s/Master’s degree in Engineering, Computer Science (or equivalent experience)
  • At least 3+ years of experience working as an Android developer
  • 7+ years of development experience with Android
  • Proficiency in Kotlin is a must
  • Developing high-quality, large-scale consumer applications is a plus
  • Understanding Android UI development and the ability to create platform-like solutions
  • Strong communication skills and a keen sense of product
  • A strong desire to create products
  • Capable of managing your workload with little supervision
  • Embrace the entrepreneurial culture and a desire to solve hard problems
  • Have excellent communication skills
