Job description

A US-based live streaming platform that connects users with their favorite media personalities is looking for an Android Developer. The selected candidate will be working with agile, cross-functional teams to design and build scalable, performant Android applications. The platform's sync technology allows users to interact, listen, and watch live shows hosted by celebrities and athletes while sharing unforgettable live moments and experiences with friends. The company has managed to raise funding worth more than $2.9 mn so far. This role requires a time-overlap of 4+ hours with the PST time zone.

 

Job Responsibilities:

  • Ship quality, robust, scalable, and high-performance code
  • Improve and optimize the engineering standards and processes
  • Take ownership of scaling the mobile app development across teams and offer valuable insights 
  • Participate in architecture discussions and regularly contribute innovative ideas
  • Influence the product roadmap, and take ownership and responsibility for new tasks

Job Requirements:

  • Bachelor’s/Master’s degree in Engineering, Computer Science (or equivalent experience)
  • At least 3+ years of relevant experience as an Android developer
  • Strong Android and Kotlin experience
  • Extensive experience developing SDKs/Frameworks
  • Familiarity with iOS/Swift is nice to have
  • A strong sense of ownership 
  • Excellent communication and collaboration skills 
  • Able to function without hand-holding and micromanagement
