Job description

A leading company developing one of the largest delivery applications in the South West of the US is looking for an Android Engineer. The engineer will be responsible for identifying and communicating potential issues early. The company has established itself as an industry leader by ensuring the delivery of various goods and services to the customer’s door in a rapid fashion. During its Series B round, the company managed to raise fundings worth more than $30 mn. This is an excellent opportunity to experience career growth in an organic and agile environment.

 

Job Responsibilities:

  • Actively contribute to research and fact-finding to develop or modify applications
  • Perform updates to existing APIs, including the addition of endpoints, response change, and error handling
  • Identify and communicate potential issues early and significantly contributes to team discussions
  • Fix bugs and perform updates to the code base while working closely with senior engineers
  • Work actively in planning and executing development projects
  • Make significant contributions to team discussions
  • Write clean, well-tested code, with a test first or TDD approach as a plus
  • Utilize data structures and algorithms to solve problems
  • Work collaboratively across technology teams to implement solutions
  • Communicate well with technical and non-technical stakeholders

Job Requirements:

  • Bachelor’s/Master’s degree in Engineering, Computer Science (or equivalent experience)
  • Posses up to 4 - 8 years of software engineering experience
  • Track record of developing architectural system solutions such as SOA, Event-driven, or n-tier
  • Familiarity with technologies such as Kotlin and Espresso
  • Nice to have some understanding of Scala, PHP, and React
  • Proficiency with coding patterns together with their applications to write highly scalable code
  • Capable of designing and building technical solutions without direct oversight
  • Expertise in writing tests that cover popular use cases and code paths
  • The ability to leverage design patterns to craft efficient, maintainable, and scalable features
  • Excellent communication and collaboration skills
