Skills required to become an HTML developer

The first step in securing remote HTML developer jobs is to learn the core skills. Now, let's have a look at it.

1. HTML

Hello World was most likely the first web page that most of us created as students. The fact that HTML is still important is astonishing. HTML, which sits at the center of web development, is responsible for how the internet works today. You can use the technology to create personalized websites with unique (and advanced) features and functions. Knowing HTML also helps you design better CMS modules and offers you an advantage in executing SEO tactics on the back-end. HTML5 is the most recent version for the uninitiated, and you should start learning it right away.

2. CSS

This is a valuable skill to land remote HTML developer jobs. Working with CSS or Cascading Style Sheets dictates how a page built using HTML will be displayed on the internet. CSS visualizes a static webpage using layouts, fonts, colors, styles, and other elements. CSS has recently become more important as a result of the wide range of screen sizes available today. CSS can make web pages responsive and fluid regardless of the screen they are viewed on.

3. JavaScript

Over the years, there has been a tremendous shift in the way people consume content. As customers, we have evolved to anticipate interactivity and dynamics on the pages we access online, rather than merely being passive viewers of content. This is when JavaScript enters the picture. It transforms an otherwise uninteresting webpage into an engaging experience. It establishes a webpage's functionality and lets you add graphical components, animations, and gamification principles, among other things. If you want to be a web developer, you can't afford to skip learning JavaScript.

4. XML

XML stands for extensible markup language. A markup language is a collection of codes, also known as tags, that describe the text in a digital document. Hypertext markup language (HTML) is the most well-known markup language, and it is used to format web pages. You should know the fundamentals of XML to get hired for remote HTML developer jobs.

5. Types of APIs

There is no such thing as a stand-alone website. Due to many dependencies, even enterprise web development needs interactions with a 3rd party element. When such information is involved, it becomes necessary to preserve the functionality of your websites without sharing the code. This is where APIs come into play. The best APIs for a web developer to master include CRUD operations, data formats, RestAPIs, and HTTP request methods.

6. Project management tools

HTML developers should also be outstanding project managers, knowing which development approach to use for which project, how to allocate resources, recognize scope creep and have backup plans. Quality delivery is critical regardless of project size. Project management tools and procedures can assist a developer in achieving this goal and perform well in their jobs.

7. DevOps and deployment

After the web development process is completed, it must be made live so that users from all over the world may access it and generate traffic. Knowing how to deploy codes is required for this. Deploying your code entails putting it in the cloud, using SaaS providers like Amazon Web Services, and so on. Aside from deployment, understanding how to transfer and scale websites is also critical. These skills come into play if your project includes moving from one host to another or adding new features, or the ability to handle large amounts of traffic.

8. JS library

The majority of ideas that enter the development phase have a short time-to-market. Project managers are eager to develop projects in a short period due to competitiveness and trend requirements. To develop websites and projects, a developer cannot just work on lines after lines of code. Because of this, JavaScript libraries are unavoidable. Knowledge of at least one JavaScript library will save you from enduring the worst Wednesdays and Fridays of your career, which was created to cut down your development time and expenses. Therefore, learn it to land HTML developer jobs.

9. Browser development tools

All of your efforts and hard work in designing websites as part of full-stack development projects will have to be reflected in the browsers that users use to access your site. Your work is rendered by a browser, making your website function entirely in the way you intended. That's why it's critical to test how your website works and responds in various browsers. Numerous BrowserDev tools (Chrome DevTools and Firefox DevTools) are available to assist you in this endeavor. These tools allow you to debug, test, edit CSS and HTML elements, make adjustments, and fine-tune your work.
