Job description

A U.S.-based company that is combining the latest mobile technology with data science to provide world-class financial services in emerging markets is looking for a Software Engineer. The selected candidate will be responsible for optimizing existing products for efficient execution while resolving scalability-related problems. The company is on a mission to cater to the financial needs of the underbanked and overlooked section of the society. This position requires some overlap with the PT time zone. The company has managed to raise close to $400 mn in funding so far. 

 

Job Responsibilities:

  • Integrate automated tests into the software development process
  • Collaborate with the team lead and other relevant stakeholders to strategize the product rollout
  • Work with cross-functional teams in identifying automation areas to further increase the quality of the company’s product
  • Maintain, review, and improve existing frameworks, tools, and processes
  • Review requirements specifications and provide timely and meaningful feedback
  • Continuously review test case coverage in the test management tool 
  • Create post-production metrics and monitoring

Job Requirements:

  • Bachelor’s/Master’s degree in Engineering, Computer Science (or equivalent experience)
  • A minimum of 4+ years of experience in building test tools and frameworks using Java, Groovy, Kotlin, Scala and 
  • Experience in Python, Jenkins or similar CI-CD tools
  • Prior experience in shell scripting, Linux/ Mac OSX for either backend or frontend services
  • Experience with microservices automation
  • Prior experience with BDD testing paradigm and one of the Behavior Driven Testing frameworks such as Cucumber, Spock or JBehave
  • Experience working in an agile development process (Scrum/ Kanban/ Scrumban)
  • Prior experience working as a QA automation engineer
  • Familiarity with programming script languages including Java and Kotlin
  • Excellent problem-solving and analytical skills
  • Detailed knowledge of application functions, bug fixing, and testing protocols
  • Strong attention to detail
  • Fluent in verbal and written English
