Job description

A Silicon Valley-based company developing agile data engineering software that automates and accelerates modern data analytics projects is looking for a Software Engineer. The selected candidate will be responsible for delivering high-quality experiences and approaching the entire development process with a high degree of attention to detail. With its world-class automation technology, the company is revolutionizing how data engineers implement data operations today and how businesses adopt analytics use cases. The company has managed to securely raise more than $70mn during their Series D round of funding. 


Job Responsibilities:

  • Gather and process raw data from various enterprise sources at scale into Hadoop
  • Create Hadoop-based enterprise business analytics and reporting applications
  • Create platform services to run big data applications at scale
  • Find novel solutions to big data problems
  • Design, improve and maintain the product pipeline using current open source technologies

Job Requirements:

  • Bachelor’s/Master’s degree in Engineering, Computer Science (or equivalent experience)
  • At least 3+ years of experience working on scalable distributed systems
  • Knowledge of Spark, Java, Scala, Python, and API code development is required
  • Strong expertise in database development like Postgress and MongoDB is a must
  • Experience with developing software using a broad range of data source connectors, including JDBC, TPT, and RestAPI, is a plus
  • Experience with BigData technologies (one or more of Map-Reduce, Hive, Pig, Tez, Spark, Sqoop) is nice to have
  • Expertise in Python, Node.js, and Meteor Platform is nice to have
  • Strong problem solving and programming skills
  • Excellent oral and written communication skills
  • Strong motivation towards working in a startup environment
