Job description

A US-based startup building SaaS products that will help farmers to grow and manage their businesses more efficiently is looking for a Software Engineer. The selected candidate will contribute to enhancing the platform's performance, usability, and scalability. The company’s mission is to make it easy for customers to buy local and fresh food directly from local farms. It has successfully raised $16mn+ in funding so far. 

 

Job Responsibilities:

  • Create well-thought-out architecture and code that prioritizes quality, simplicity, maintainability, and performance
  • Consider and advocate for the customer's point of view and experience
  • Take part in code reviews, which include testing and documentation
  • Be in charge of learning and adapting to new technologies, tools, methods, and processes
  • Contribute to the enhancement of the platform's performance, usability, and scalability
  • Collaborate closely with product owners to define the scope of work for future releases
  • Create and enhance small and large-scale testing tools, frameworks, and methodologies
  • Challenge yourself daily by practicing self-driven learning and team problem-solving
  • Cultivate a diverse set of technical and non-technical skills as a result of the startup culture
  • Participate in the products' entire life cycle, including design, development, code reviews, patent creation, testing, documentation, and deployment

Job Requirements:

  • Bachelor’s/Master’s degree in Engineering, Computer Science (or equivalent experience)
  • At least 3+ years of relevant experience as a software engineer
  • 2+ years of experience in full-stack development using an object-oriented language is a must
  • 2+ years of experience in building responsive UI’s using the latest JS frameworks is required
  • 1+ year(s) in leading the technical designs and implementation of highly scalable and adaptable systems is a must
  • A real passion for solving complex software engineering puzzles in a dynamic environment
  • Understanding software design principles, algorithms, data structures, and asynchronous concepts is a must
  • Strong verbal and written communication skills
  • Experience with any of the following testing is a must: performance testing, security testing, privacy testing, accessibility testing, and localization/globalization testing
  • Sound problem resolution, judgment, negotiating, and decision-making skills
  • Experience with NodeJS, React, Redux, and Webpack is required
  • Familiarity with Stripe, Quickbooks, Heroku, AWS, Redis, and Postgres is nice to have
  • Large scale data analytics and failure analysis knowledge is desired
