Job description

A well-established recession-thriving and resale clothing franchise is looking for a Software Engineer. The selected candidate will be mentor engineers by coaching and supporting them. The company owns and manages retail outlets across the country that sell high-quality apparel brands at low prices through the purchase and reselling of thousands of gently used clothing items at a fraction of their original cost. This is a nice opportunity for developers to impact the fashion industry and showcase their technical expertise.

 

Job Responsibilities:

  • Manipulate and maintain data pipelines, architectures, and data sets
  • Enhance the appearance, reliability, and speed of the software products
  • Leverage GitLab to manage workflow, review code, and merge requests
  • Work with product and engineering teams, architect solutions, and plan timelines
  • Boost your knowledge by studying the latest engineering tools and techniques
  • ideate and assist with the evolution and automation of CI/CD processes

Job Requirements:

  • Bachelor’s/Master’s degree in Engineering, Computer Science (or equivalent experience)
  • At least 5+ years of relevant experience as a software engineer
  • Strong understanding of object-oriented and scripting languages
  • Proficiency with SQL, data modeling, and data manipulation
  • Strong communication and writing skills
  • Core competency in building and managing multiple external API integrations
  • Demonstrable expertise working in a SCRUM and Agile environment
  • Solid experience working with Rocket.Chat, GitLab, JavaScript, React, Typescript, HTML5, jQuery, and CSS
  • Prolific knowledge of Java, Spring, Hibernate, Unit testing, TDD (Test Driven Development), and Cypress
  • Working experience of PostgreSQL, MariaDB/MySQL, Git, and GitLab
  • Demonstrable experience with VSCode, Docker local environment, Jenkins, SaltStack, Docker Hub, and Nagios
  • Prior experience working with Digital Ocean (virtual servers), Hybrid Distributed System
  • Nice to have some front-end React experience
  • Proficient experience working on Linux/Unix platforms is desirable
  • Understanding of .NET 4.6+ engineering is nice to have
