Job description

A rapidly-growing AI firm that offers customers a self-checkout technology while collaborating with retailers on product performance and giving real-time inventory updates, is looking for a Software Engineer (Cloud Services and Infrastructure). The selected candidate will be responsible for analyzing the website performance and driving improvements. The company's AI technology supports retailers’ existing environments and can integrate with existing technology. This position is more infrastructure-oriented and will be a great opportunity for developers who enjoy working on multi-faceted projects. The company has managed to raise $200mn+ in funding during their Series C round. This position requires a minimum of 6+ hours overlap with the EU or US time zone.

 

Job Responsibilities:

  • Build highly available and scalable microservices on cloud infrastructure
  • Collaborate cross-functionally with other engineering leaders
  • Develop and enforce efficient processes, establish industry standards, and ensure high availability of systems
  • Develop clear and concise documentation for contributions
  • Participate in all aspects of the company and contribute to the roadmap

Job Requirements:

  • Bachelor’s/Master’s degree in Engineering, Computer Science (or equivalent experience)
  • At least 3+ years of relevant experience as a software engineer
  • Proficiency in at least one system language such as Rust, C++, Go, or Java 
  • Extensive experience with GCP, AWS, or Azure cloud infrastructure
  • Prior experience writing applications that make efficient use of resources
  • Experience with domain-driven design and architecting systems that are easy to change
  • Demonstrable experience working with container platforms like Docker and Kubernetes
  • Experience in building highly available cloud applications 
  • Experience in building APIs for cloud services, including client libraries
  • Familiarity working with CI/CD platforms like Jenkins, GCP Cloud Build, and Github Actions
  • Proficient working with Protobuf, Flatbuffer structured data, and gRPC communication protocols
  • Solid understanding of SQL and NoSQL databases
  • Knowledge and experience working with PubSub and message queues
