Job description

A U.S.-based company that is creating cutting-edge financial services and technologies is looking for a Software Engineer. The engineer will be in charge of assisting the group by figuring out the trickiest and most intricate technological problems. The company specializes in robo-advice and micro-investing that enables customers to invest in spare change, bank accounts, and bonuses. The company has managed to securely raise more than $508mn during their Series F round of funding. This position requires a significant overlap with the PST time zone.

Job Responsibilities:

Encourage improvements to the quality, security, and performance of the product that will particularly help your team and others
Promote creativity in the group by accepting tasks that are very complicated and wide-ranging and by being willing to attempt new things
uphold a high standard and improve our internal style, maintainability, and best practices for high-level web environment standards
Work on maintaining, promoting, and code review

Job Requirements:

Bachelor’s/Master’s degree in Engineering, Computer Science (or equivalent experience)
At least 3+ years of relevant experience as a software engineer
Prolific experience working with Python, Scala, and SQL
Some familiarity with GitHub and Spark is desirable
Nice to have some understanding of Databricks and Data warehousing
Prior experience working in the financial sector is preferred
Excellent spoken and written English communication skills
