Job description

A U.S.-based company that is producing crawler cranes and offering efficient lift solutions, fleet management, structural repairs, and remanufacturing, is looking for a Software Engineer. The selected candidate will be responsible for rewriting scripts to dump data from one DB to another on a regular basis. The company is developing mobile/tower cranes of the highest caliber and providing services that will help to create physical communities and structures that will change the lifting industry in the future. Job Responsibilities:

  • Organize the conversion of the current technology to increase the ERP's lifespan
  • Prepare an Informix table-based data warehouse from which MS Access may access the data
  • Support the current DBAs in catching up on work and fulfilling deadlines
  • Complete the development/conversion work
  • Explore the current legacy apps that utilize a legacy Informix data warehouse, and help to migrate the ERP system from an Informix Database base to an Oracle Database
  • Create new Informix scripts to load the data back into the Informix legacy data warehouse after converting current Informix DB scripts to Oracle to offload data from the ERP system

Job Requirements:

  • Bachelor’s/Master’s degree in Engineering, Computer Science (or equivalent experience)
  • At least 4+ years of relevant experience as a software engineer
  • Prolific knowledge of Oracle
  • Familiarity with Informix and AIX Unix (not Windows)
  • Nice to have some understanding of Database Administration and IT
  • In-depth knowledge of Oracle Database Administration is desirable
  • Excellent spoken and written English communication skills
