Job description

A Silicon Valley-based company that offers a wide variety of services, including technical assistance and cutting-edge services, is looking for a Software Engineer. The selected candidate will be tasked with creating control plane software for the SONiC operating system and testing it. With market-leading industrial networking that is specifically designed for operational technology, the company helps organizations run more adaptable, secure, and productive operations. Job Responsibilities:

  • Develop, update, establish, and test the SONiC operating system's data-center feature set
  • Work on SONiC's portfolio platforms and distributed software infrastructure building blocks 
  • Work on building the cloud controller's manageability infrastructure using APIs and models 
  • Take ownership of SONiC development work on distributed chassis debugging tools
  • In-depth knowledge of LLDP, the idea of SAI, the idea of EVPN, and the idea of VXLAN
  • Prior expertise working on the development of the Kernel and the higher-level network operating system

Job Requirements:

  • Bachelor’s/Master’s degree in Engineering, Computer Science (or equivalent experience)
  • At least 5-10+ years of experience with embedded software development and open-source technologies
  • Strong expertise with Networking Protocols, Linux, and Routing
  • Prolific working knowledge of SONiC (Software for Open Networking in the Cloud) 
  • Strong programming skills in C, C++, Python, and multithreading 
  • Working knowledge of L2/L3 forwarding and feature creation in SONiC
  • Proficiency in developing platform features in distributed chassis environments; and expertise in handling control plane packets
  • In-depth knowledge of all layer 3 forwarding domain technologies
  • Strong comprehension of any silicon ASIC, v4 v6 EVPN, and VXLAN segment routing
  • Prolific DevOps expertise with experience in open-source CI/CD infrastructure (GitHub, JIRA, Jenkins, Kubernetes, etc.) 
  • Manageability specialists with experience creating API and Model-driven device software that is managed by cloud controller 
  • Solid background building the internals and infrastructure of operating systems  
  • Strong understanding of any silicon ASIC, IPv4 and IPv6 EVPN, and VXLAN segment routing
  • Excellent English communication skills, both spoken and written
