Job description

An industry-leading video streaming platform providing OTT content in multiple countries is looking for a Software Development Engineer (Test). The engineer will be primarily responsible for writing clear, concise, and comprehensive software test cases. The platform is operating in up to 6+ countries with over 300 million users. It has raised a fund of over $226mn so far. This is a unique opportunity for candidates to work with a globally renowned company and rise quickly through the ranks. The role requires a minimum of 5 hours overlap.

 

Job Responsibilities:

  • Contribute to developing back-end tools or frameworks to test Rest APIs, microservices, data migration, failover scenarios, and blue-green deployment
  • Leverage advanced coding skills to quickly and efficiently solve problems that may arise
  • Build distributed system for performance and scale testing
  • Perform tasks assigned to the team by implementing Linux commands and shell scripts based on your knowledge of building and publishing POCs

Job Requirements:

  • Bachelor’s/Master’s degree in Computer Science/Computer Engineering (or equivalent experience)
  • 2 - 5 years of experience in software QA methodologies, tools, and Agile/Scrum development process
  • Sound expertise in writing clear, concise, and comprehensive test plans and test cases
  • Proven track record with both white box and black box testing and with automated testing tools
  • Proficiency with Java/Python and/or any scripting languages
  • Good understanding of OOPs concepts, REST APIs, and their usage
  • Must be well versed in build release and deployment flow especially in iOS & Android
  • Experience with performance and/or security testing will be a plus
  • Solid understanding of the REST APIs, request-response structures, error and status codes
  • Good knowledge of SQL and scripting along with DevOps activities
  • Experience in working or testing with distributed and big data solutions and mid-tier caches, such as Aerospike, DynamoDB, Elastic Search, Hadoop, Cassandra, Kafka
  • Experience with Amazon AWS or similar cloud providers
  • Experience in industry best practices in SW development processes: Unit testing, OO design, code reviews, etc.
