Senior Ruby on Rails Engineer

A fast-emerging technology platform that helps independent insurance agencies simplify the application and renewal process is looking for a Senior Ruby on Rails Engineer. The engineer will report directly to the Head of Engineering and be responsible for architecting and building new capabilities on the award-winning InsureTech platform using Ruby. The company’s modern, intuitive and high-efficiency workflow enables brokers to manage time spent on applications and renewals efficiently up to 80%. They have raised $4.5 mn in funding so far. This is a rare opportunity for the candidate to join a high-growth startup and rise quickly through the ranks.

Job Responsibilities:

• Architect and build out new capabilities on the platform
• Design and develop large systems using Ruby on Rails
• Build the system and application architectures
• Work on new feature development
• Collaborate and communicate with employees and clients across various channels
• Work closely with product leaders and technical team to develop scalable solutions  

Job Requirements:

• Bachelor’s/Master’s degree in Computer Science (or equivalent experience)
• 5-7+ years of professional or technical experience
• Experience owning development, shipping, and maintaining functional areas of an application
• Expertise with Ruby on Rails and MongoDB
• Comfortable with Angular, AWS and PostGresSQL
• Strong interpersonal, communication, and project management skills
• Enjoy building technology and teams
• Self-motivated, ambitious with an entrepreneurial spirit
