Job description

A leading tech company offering sustainability reporting and collating services to organizations is looking for a Senior Ruby on Rails Backend Developer. The developer will work primarily on the backend with adept skills in integrating with modern front-end frameworks. The company is an award-winning provider of carbon accounting software leveraging technology to make the world a better place. This is a rare opportunity for selected candidates to collaborate with sustainability and industry professionals at Fortune 500s while working closely with end-users and making a huge impact.

 

Job Responsibilities:

  • Work with the development team to implement the reimagined application
  • Take ownership of the codebase and write code for a significant piece of the application
  • Work with the client-facing consulting staff to understand and anticipate client needs
  • Design, build, and maintain the features and functionality to meet and exceed the requirements in a manner that delights users
  • Contribute to and evolve the DevOps
  • Investigate, resolve bugs, and improve performance
  • Stay informed on innovations and best practices and bring these to the team

Job Requirements:

  • Bachelor’s/Master’s degree in Engineering, Computer Science (or equivalent experience)
  • At least 5+ years of relevant experience developing with Ruby on Rails
  • Experience developing with Hotwire (Turbo and Stimulus)
  • Competence using JavaScript and jQuery
  • Experience with test-driven development in general and Rspec in particular
  • Experience with GitHub, SQL, and Heroku
  • Passionate about using software to tackle climate change and environmental justice
  • Enjoy working in a team environment
  • Ability to take responsibility and bring a ‘can-do’ attitude
  • Eager to grow technically and personally
  • Appreciate directness in communications and fluency in English
  • Committed to acting with integrity and expect integrity from your peers
