A leading tech company offering sustainability reporting and collating services to organizations is looking for a Senior Ruby on Rails Backend Developer. The developer will work primarily on the backend with adept skills in integrating with modern front-end frameworks. The company is an award-winning provider of carbon accounting software leveraging technology to make the world a better place. This is a rare opportunity for selected candidates to collaborate with sustainability and industry professionals at Fortune 500s while working closely with end-users and making a huge impact.

Job Responsibilities:

Work with the development team to implement the reimagined application
Take ownership of the codebase and write code for a significant piece of the application
Work with the client-facing consulting staff to understand and anticipate client needs
Design, build, and maintain the features and functionality to meet and exceed the requirements in a manner that delights users
Contribute to and evolve the DevOps
Investigate, resolve bugs, and improve performance
Stay informed on innovations and best practices and bring these to the team

Job Requirements:

Bachelor’s/Master’s degree in Engineering, Computer Science (or equivalent experience)
At least 5+ years of relevant experience developing with Ruby on Rails
Experience developing with Hotwire (Turbo and Stimulus)
Competence using JavaScript and jQuery
Experience with test-driven development in general and Rspec in particular
Experience with GitHub, SQL, and Heroku
Passionate about using software to tackle climate change and environmental justice
Enjoy working in a team environment
Ability to take responsibility and bring a ‘can-do’ attitude
Eager to grow technically and personally
Appreciate directness in communications and fluency in English
Committed to acting with integrity and expect integrity from your peers
