Job description

A fast-emerging company that provides flower arranging services across the U.S., is looking for a Senior Ruby on Rails Developer. The selected candidate will be responsible for determining which endpoints are generating problems for consumers. The company provides an exceptional customer experience and live by its values. Job Responsibilities:

Analyze the performance of existing REST/Ruby On Rails endpoints for reporting
Identify which endpoints are causing issues for customers
Resolve problems encountered on the platform like slow response times, error messages, timeouts, reports issues, etc.
Remediate reporting errors identified, improve Ruby on Rails controller code, and optimize SQL queries
Potentially modify Aurora/MySQL infrastructure in coordination with the SRE team if needed to improve performance

Job Requirements:

Bachelor’s/Master’s degree in Engineering, Computer Science (or equivalent experience)
At least 3+ years of relevant experience as a software developer
Knowledge of Ruby on Rails
Experience troubleshooting and solving problems in production environments
Knowledge of AWS is nice to have
Knowledge of MySQL, SQL, and relational DB
Passionate about having good unit test coverage, integration tests, etc.
Knowledge of documentation, i.e., writing a tech spec before starting a big project
Passionate about code quality, eagerly welcoming (and giving) code reviews
Working knowledge of common security vulnerabilities (i.e., OWASP Top 10)
Able to assess an existing codebase, identify tech debt, and provide guidance (to the rest of the team) on best practices, clean-up, and refactoring
Working knowledge of inventory systems and ERP is nice to have
Proficiency in English
