Job description

A US-based company developing an intelligent dispatch and navigation software by leveraging the power of AI is looking for a Senior Data Engineer. The engineer will be in charge of maintaining the legacy reporting systems and existing codebases of the software. The company’s dispatching software strives to enable the perfect last-mile delivery experience for everyone in the process. The company has securely raised more than $70mn during their Series C round of funding. 

  

Job Responsibilities:

  • Drive database and data pipeline/ETL designing processes utilizing emerging technologies and tools
  • Provide technical assistance for developing operationally efficient analytic solutions
  • Define standards and suggest efficient methodologies for the Data Warehousing environment
  • Develop scalable data pipelines using modern resources like AWS, Snowflake, Spark, or Kafka to induct data from various systems
  • Transform complex business requirements into scalable technical solutions to meet data warehousing design standards
  • Build scalable data pipelines and ETL applications to support operations related to marketing, content, and finance/accounting
  • Help to decipher data migration problems and improve system performance
  • Work closely with product managers, technical managers, operations, and other engineers

Job Requirements:

  • Bachelor’s/Master’s degree in Engineering, Computer Science (or equivalent experience)
  • At least 5+ years of experience working as a Data Engineer
  • Must be able to work with technologies like SQL
  • Should possess expertise in developing solutions based on Python
  • Experience in working with the Hadoop ecosystem (AWS EMR, GCP data proc, Cloudera, or similar) is required
  • Familiarity with modern software architecture will be helpful
