Job description

Job responsibilities

  • Be responsible for creating effective algorithms, as well as implementing those in data lakes, pipelines, and other areas
  • Run software engineering process with continuous improvement
  • Manage different tasks, including scalable ingestion APIs, data modeling and transfer, microservices, and event-based architectures
  • Design and create scalable databases while improving data models
  • Take ownership of data security and protection practices
  • Write unit and integration tests to maintain data accuracy and provide peer review

Minimum requirements

  • Bachelor’s/Master’s degree in Engineering, Computer Science (or equivalent experience)
  • At least 5+ years of experience in data engineering or data science field (rare exceptions for highly skilled developers)
  • Solid knowledge and working experience of SQL, Python, and Bash
  • Skills in SQL, PL/SQL or T-SQL with RDBMSs like Teradata, MS SQL Server, or Oracle in production environments
  • Proficient with maintaining/configuring data engineering and ETL tools
  • Working proficiency in data tools, such as Hive, Spark, Hadoop, or Presto
  • Extensive experience in technologies, including PySpark, Python, DBT, and AWS services
  • Fluent in verbal and written English communication
  • Comfortable working full-time (40 hours/week) with a 4-hour overlap with US time zones

Preferred skills

  • Familiarity with NLP, AWS CDK
  • Knowledge of representation learning, data visualization
  • Excellent collaboration and problem-solving skills
  • Critical thinker and a team player
  • Understanding of SDLC and Agile methodologies
