Senior Data Engineer

A well-established hospitality firm channeling the power of modern technology to offer travel services and living spaces is looking for a Senior Data Engineer. The selected candidate will be in charge of building and operating the data infrastructure, data warehouse, data and ETL pipelines, ML platform, and performing data modeling for analytics purposes. The company is on a mission to reinvent hospitality by minimizing inefficiency and providing award-winning comfort and care. The company has managed to raise funding worth more than $500 mn+ during their Series E round. Job Responsibilities:

• Establish and manage the data infrastructure by developing and maintaining the data platform, data pipelines, and the tools 
• Develop software libraries that regulate the procurement, ingestion, and integration of outer data sources that are critical 
• Collaborate with product engineering, data science teams, and own tools, processes, and controls to help the team grow 
• Use demonstrable SQL and data modeling skills to build the data warehouse base layer and data models that will power the reporting dashboards
• Establish and maintain the company’s data lake/data warehousing strategy
• Determine appropriate data architecture, implementing technical solutions, and meeting growing demands of the business
• Work with product and business analytics teams to ensure relevant business data and business metrics are available and accessible
• Create systems for product analytics and business performance reporting
• Understand the business intimately and model data that will be the source of truth for the company’s business KPIs 
• Outline and devise scalable platforms and processes for feature extraction, model training, and simulation
• Take responsibility for inbound requests and issue resolutions 

Job Requirements:

• Bachelor’s/Master’s degree in Engineering, Computer Science (or equivalent experience)
• At least 5+ years of relevant experience working as a data engineer
• Prolific experience with Python and SQL
• Extensive data modeling and coding skills
• Solid understanding of data warehouse ideas and processes
• Proficiency in writing ETL jobs, performance tuning, and query optimization
• Experience with AWS cloud services and data warehouse stores like Redshift or Snowflake 
• Strong communication and collaboration skills
• Ability to gather requirements and translate them to specs and design
• Prior experience working in the real estate or hospitality industry is desirable
