Job description

A US-based company developing a robust search engine for industrial machinery and equipment in the reverse supply chain industry is looking for a Ruby on Rails Developer. The selected candidate will be tasked with developing quickly scalable, fully responsive, and well-documented products. The NASDAQ-listed company is providing the world's most effective excess asset management services to premier enterprises, governmental entities, and customers. They have managed to secure $11mn+ in funding so far. This role requires a significant overlap with the CST time zone. 

  

Job Responsibilities:

  • Examine existing REST/Ruby on Rails reporting endpoints for bottlenecks
  • Determine which endpoints are causing problems for customers and resolve issues 
  • Troubleshoot issues including slow response times, error messages, timeouts, and fix bugs
  • Regularly resolve reporting errors, improve the codebase, and optimize SQL queries

Job Requirements:

  • Bachelor’s/Master’s degree in Engineering, Computer Science (or equivalent experience)
  • At least 5+ years of relevant experience as a Ruby on Rails developer
  • A minimum of 5 years of experience in Ruby 6.1 is required
  • At Least 2-3+ years of experience in Go, React, and Python
  • Extensive experience in Solr, PostgreSQL, Redis, Elasticsearch
  • Prolific experience in AWS, Terraform, Kubernetes, Prometheus is required 
  • Demonstrable experience in React, Webpack, Rspec, and Rubocop
  • Prior experience working with Github + Github Actions for CI/CD
  • Solid experience in Figma, Jira, Slack is preferred
